Elise Kamala Yuill Cohen
Music Ambassador
Elise became a music ambassador for the Heart Of Living Yoga Foundation after meeting Padma at Colourfest in 2018. A deep friendship blossomed and Padma shared her vision of a Lakshmi mantra meditation album, which she felt Elise was the right person to compose and record. At the time Elise was in the midst of preparing to record another mantra album, alongside teaching yoga and leading kirtan events, workshops and retreats. Following a trip to Sri Lanka with Padma in March 2019 to volunteer for the charity and experience first hand their wonderful grass roots work, Elise returned to the UK inspired to get to work on the Lakshmi album. In August it was ready for release. The album donates 50% of all the profits to the Heart Of Living Yoga Foundation.
At the Opening to Grace retreat in August 2019, Padma gave Elise the spiritual name Kamala which is the 26th name of the Goddess Lakshmi's 108 names. Kamala also means Lotus; a symbol of enlightenment.
