Join Vishwam & friends for the third annual Cave of the Heart day retreat and pilgrimage in Pittenweem. Together we will be discovering this inner peaceful, joyful and loving space within through yoga, meditation and mantra. We will also be making a special pilgrimage to a cave sacred to Mary Magdalene as well as to our ancient Pictish and Celtic ancestors.
Through beautiful, sacred practices from Heart Of Living Yoga, we will also have the opportunity to experience what some have called the Cave of the Heart. This is not the physical heart or the emotional one, but the spiritual heart. Resting in the spiritual heart is a wonderfully nurturing, inspiring and healing practice that anyone can learn.
All Welcome
Please bring your yoga mat, blanket and cushion, a notebook and pen, a water bottle and something vegetarian for our shared lunch. It always seems to work out perfectly and we all enjoy a much nicer meal than if we each brought a pack lunch!
For the cave you may wish to bring a jacket or picnic blanket to sit on the floor - there is a small bench for those who prefer. The cave is accessed by steps. If that is not an option for you, Prasanna, who is a wonderful yoga teacher assisting on the day, will remain with you in the hall to enjoy a beautiful heart meditation together, tuning into the Cave of the Heart.

Vishwam has been practising yoga for around 25 years and teaching for over a decade. He is a teacher and trainer in the Heart Of Living Yoga tradition founded by Padma Devi. This is a very rare and special school of yoga which is also a charity serving some of the most underprivileged chidlren in Sri Lanka, Brasil, India & the U.K.
A former resident of both Fife and Edinburgh, Vishwam now lives in Shetland where he teaches both in person and online. The sacred cave in Pittenweem is very close to his heart and he’s delighted to share this special pilgrimage with you.
Coming to live in the heart, step by step he’s discovering every day deeper and deeper possibilities of the endless peace and joy we are all yearning for. It is his honour and delight to share this peace and joy as much as he is able.
Vishwam has taught students from age 8 to 80 and with a wide range of physical capacities and health concerns. With over 500 hours of training, including gentle therapeutic yoga, he adapts his teaching style to the needs of those in the room. Every body is welcome.
