Mahamrityunjaya (OM Tryambakam) Sadhana
Traditionally chanted at the beginning of any undertaking or journey and at the end of life – leaving the body behind (death) is the beginning of a new journey. This is considered to be one of the highest, most powerful and protective mantras often associated with Lord Siva. It is also a powerful mantra for healing.

The 108 Mantra Sadhana practice is often undertaken after someone has left their body, as a support for their soul’s onward journey. Through the grace of Love itself, the sadhana also alleviates and soothes the grief of the one who is chanting. It can be done at any time – during the time the loved one is preparing to pass, straight after the death or even many years later – the beloved soul who has left the earth will receive the benefits. It can also be practiced for pets when they die.
It is also a great healing mantra and has the reputation of even bringing people back to life.
At the beginning of a journey, or any new beginning, it is traditionally chanted 3 times.
There is a beautiful traditional 40 Day Sadhana Practice which you can do using this recording.
